Road Trip From Chandigarh To Delhi Via Nahan
For my part, I travel not to go anywhere, but to go. I travel for travel’s sake. The great affair is to move. – Robert Louis Stevenson
An urge to explore and experience places and people has always been my dream. And I am sure that the same dream of being at an unknown place inspires a lot of you. For me, it is in these little-hidden places and untarred broken roads you get to experience the real meaning of travel. Once again in a bid to do just that I decided to take a road trip from Chandigarh to Delhi, not by the usual route of NH1. And then came an idea to travel to Morni Hills and figure my way out to Delhi from there on.
Ride till Morni Hills
On the foothills of Himalayas, Shivalik Range has many such tiny hidden gems waiting to be explored. A quaint little Village Morni has been developed as a tourist destination so that people can relax far away from the hustle and bustle of the city. In my childhood days, drive to Morni had always been pleasurable and it still holds the same charm.
From Morni to Nahan
After a nice ride with tiny villages, the feel of adventure kicks in on this route. While the road goes from bad to worse, the roads just get better and better for a rider who needs an adrenaline rush. There are so many small places where you can relax and cut yourselves out from buzzing cellphones, honking cars and all those maddening noises. This is when the soft but dependable thump of your machine makes the best sound. Just when you are filled with adventure in the journey from Chandigarh to Delhi here comes awesome SH2, the Kumarhatti – Sarahan – Nahan Road. This road is a true pleasure to drive with fresh tarmac and less traffic.
From Nahan to Karnal
This road passes through Kalesar Wildlife Sanctuary which is one of the popular destinations for bird watchers. This is one of the amazing offbeat routes while traveling from Chandigarh to Delhi. Riding through a forest is always thrilling and adventurous and the icing on the cake was the perfect orange sunset while passing through this region.
Karnal to Delhi – Now I have arrived on NH1 and raced down myself to reach back to Delhi. Although there are takeaways from Highways as well but I remain interested in exploring the lesser known or an uncommon route from point A to point B. And believe me, this sense of traveling has given me immense joy during these small rides and helps me to understand a bit more of myself.
Thanks for reading my blog.
Keep Exploring, Keep Riding, Respect Others and Be Safe.
